DUBAI, March 1 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Consulate-General in Dubai launched mobile payment service, allowing the applicants to pay fees through mobile payment platforms.
In a statement on its official website, the consulate-general said that the applicants can now use mobile payment platforms, such as Wechat and Alipay, two biggest mobile payment platforms in China, to complete the transactions since Feb. 27.
The launch of the new payment method aimed at facilitating those who have difficulties in paying fees by cash or cards.
The charge will be deducted from the mobile accounts of the applicants based on live foreign exchange rates.
Over 200,000 Chinese currently live in Dubai, the trade and financial center of the United Arab Emirates.
