70 films to be screened to mark 70th founding anniversary of the PRC

BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- A total of 70 films selected by national defense education and film experts will be screened across the country this year to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

Some 50,000 screenings both in theaters and on the Internet will be given to the 70 films promoting patriotism and revolutionary heroism under the program, according to the China Film Foundation.

Since the program was initiated in 2009, more than 50 million officials, members of the public, students and military personnel watched films and receive national defense education.
