Aerial photo taken on May 24, 2019 shows the West Lake in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province. Lying in China's southeast coast, Zhejiang Province constitutes the south wing of the Yangtze River Delta. Over the years, the province has achieved great successes in terms of ecological development. As per local ecological authorities, Zhejiang saw on-going improvement in its natural environment in 2018, not least in water quality and forest coverage. By improving rural living standards, embracing an ecological perspective on development, encouraging the young to be employed back in their rural hometowns and stimulating the rural culture, Zhejiang Province has become a pioneer in creating a positive cycle of improved natural environment, sustainable economy and good life. In 2018, Zhejiang's Green Rural Revival Programme was recognised in the Inspiration and Action category of the Champions of the Earth Awards, the UN's highest environmental honor. On June 6-8, the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition will display Zhejiang's achievements in ecological development with a Zhejiang Day theme event. As a platform for international exchange and cultural promotion, the event is expected to expose visitors to Zhejiang's rich products, sound livability and natural beauties. (Xinhua/Huang Zongzhi)
